Hedy Lamarr Skater Dress

Hollywood Star Hedy Lamarr was not only named "The Most Beautiful Woman in the World", but she was also a brilliant inventress!

Her most significant contribution was her co-invention with George Antheil: A Secret Communication System.

This system paved the way for today's wireless communications - WiFi- and was deemed so vital to national defense that government wanted to keep it secret!

In 1997, Lamarr and Antheil received the Electronic Frontier Foundation Pioneer Award and the Bulbie Gnass Spirit of Achievement Bronze Award, given to individuals whose creative lifetime achievements in the arts, sciences, business, or invention fields have significantly contributed to society.

Lamarr was featured on the Science Channel and the Discovery Channel. In 2014, Lamarr and Antheil were posthumously inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame.

This skater dress features prints of her actual patent figures from 1941.
