Ada Lovelace Dress

Size Guide

This Women in STEM Tribute Dress features modified prints of Lovelace's diagram from Note G - The First Published Computer Algorithm!

Ada Lovelace, (1815-1852) was an English Mathematician and writer. She was best known for her work on the Analytical Engine, generally considered to be the first computer.

She was the first to recognize that the mechanical general purpose computer had applications beyond pure calculation, and published the first algorithm intended to be carried out by such a machine.

As a result, she is sometimes regarded as the first to recognize the full potential of a "computing machine" and the first computer programmer.

In modern day, she is held as a true icon of STEM, and even has a dedicated computer language called "Ada"!

So Proud to Wear This Dress

This dress is the perfect dress to wear to any event; especially a technology event. It travels so well (it doesn't wrinkle) and the material is so soft. It is thin enough so it doesn't feel heavy. I received many compliments on this dress, and it sparked conversation. I recently wore it to the Western Users of SAS Software (WUSS) conference and many knew who Ada Lovelace was without explanation. When I did explain the dress, so many were in awe and thought it was so extraordinary. I was proud to wear this dress to represent women programmers, but also to represent Shenova and the inspiration of women in STEM. LinkedIn sponsored a booth where we could take our professional profile photos, and I was so happy to be wearing the dress for my photos!
